DAMPAK PANDEMI COVID-19 TERHADAP PERAN KARANG TARUNA “BETANG GRIYA” DALAM MENUMBUHKAN TRADISI KEPEDULIAN SOSIAL MASYARAKAT

Abstract

Youth organizations hoped that it would have a role and social concern for the community, especially with the current covid-19 pandemic conditions.  It caused a lot of fear, both for the Indonesian people and especially residents of the Betang Griya Indah housing complex. Seeing the impact of this pandemic, Karang Taruna took the initiative to further build social awareness in the Betang Griya Indah housing complex to help and empower the surrounding community. The purpose of this study was to determine the attitudes and steps taken by the Betang Griya Indah youth complex in dealing with the covid-19 pandemic. The data collection techniques used were observation and interviews. In this study, the research subjects were three people: the management, members of the youth organization, and the Betang Griya complex community. The results showed that in responding to the covid-19 pandemic outbreak, youth organizations responded responsively and immediately moved to compile work programs and create social activities to deal with the covid-19 pandemic. The Betang Griya Indah youth organization program includes creating a covid-19 handling and prevention post, create cooperation activities to clean and splash the disinfectant liquid around the complex, and kitchens made it public to distribute groceries to residents affected by the economy from the covid-19 pandemic.
